The international situation is not the best but exports of Italian wine has grown by 3.1% in value (3.8 billion euros) and 2.5% in quantity (1.06 billion litres) in the first semester.In this picture Veneto is the leading region with its denominations including Prosecco, Valpolicella, Soave and Pinot Grigio delle Venezie: a 5.7% (1.4 billion euros) increase in value over 2023, worth about a third of Italian exports.
Tuscany is in second place, with Chianti Classico, Bolgheri, Brunello di Montalcino and all its denominations, and marks a 3.5% growth in value (593.9 million euro). Barolo, Barbaresco and all the denominations in Piedmont have seen a slight slowdown, falling by 2.2% in value (€565.7 million). Trentino Alto Adige also fell by 5.1% (311.1 million euros) while Emilia Romagna rose by 7% and closed the ranking of the five Italian regions with 231.4 million euros.
Above the 100 million euro in exported wine we also find Lombardy -8.4% (150.4 million euros), Abruzzo +1.1% (119.3 million euros), Puglia +4.6% (108.5 million euros) and Friuli Venezia Giulia -1.1% (102.6 million euros).
