The atypical weather conditions, persistent rains in some areas and severe drought in others have not made it easy the 2024 harvest. According to estimates provided by the European producer states (18 members), there would be about 146.5 million hectolitres (-1.49% respect to the last season) of wine produced this season, even below the five-year average of 160 million hectolitres.

Italy will most likely be the leading producer for volumes with about 41 million hectolitres (+7% on 2023), below the five-year average of 47 million hectolitres. 22 million are DOC and 11.8 million are IGP on the volumes produced,

France and Spain are next on the podium with 39.5 million hectolitres produced (-18% in 2023) and 38.1 million hectolitres (+19% in 2023), respectively.
