The horeca world shows a slight growth following a period of crisis. The consumers drink more responsibly, this is evident both in the Horeca channel and in the off-trade; the trend is to drink less at home. The markets with an expected growth in 2025 are: China, Germany, UK, USA and Italy.
Ivana Mitic, Senior Insights Manager for Bevtrac at Iwsr says that “The latest Bevtrac data from Iwsr shows a growing upturn in the horeca for some markets, giving the much needed boost to the industry. […] Moderation is taking root in consumer habits, while non-alcoholic offerings and premium categories are gaining ground.
There is robust volume growth in emerging markets such as India (+4% in volume in the first half of 2024 over 2023), Brazil (+4%) and South Africa (+5%).In Europe, North America, China, Spain and Apac (Pacific Asia) many consumers are more aware of the amount of alcohol consumed and report an increase in No/Low alcohol products.
